Spend an evening with author Dr. Rogelio Guedea
Join us for an evening with Dr. Rogelio Guedea, one of Mexico’s top authors currently living in New Zealand. Dr. Guedea will talk about his most recent crime novel El Crimen de Los Tepames which is ranked among the five best-selling books in Mexico. The novel touches on the themes of food, cultivation and rural life in Mexico.
Following this, Wellington poet Melody Nixon will read a selection of poems – in English. We will wrap up the evening with an open-floor discussion about Mexican literature with particular focus on the topics of food and rural agriculture.
Copies of Dr. Guedea’s two books of bilingual poems Si No Te Hubieras Ido/ If Only You Hadn't Gone (Cold Hub Press, 2014) and Punctuation (Cold Hub Press, 2017) will be available for purchase on the night.
This event is proudly supported by Tertulia Literaria in collaboration with Biblioteca Letras Latinas and the Embassy of Mexico in Wellington.
Entry is free, but you need to register!
See you there!
Note: This event will be in Room: RH105. Victoria University Pipitea Campus, 33 Bunny Street. Light refreshments provided.
