This Anzac weekend, come and hear a story written for children about Katherine Mansfield, her brother Leslie and the pendant given to Leslie before he left for the First World War, then make a pendant that has special meaning to you.

A free event but registration required, visit the Katherine Mansfield House & Garden website.

At Katherine Mansfield House & Garden we have a special pounamu (greenstone) pendant that belonged to Katherine Mansfield’s younger brother Leslie. It was given to him before he left for the First World War. This Anzac weekend, come and hear a story written for children about Katherine, Leslie and the pendant, then make a pendant that has special meaning to you.

Suitable for ages 5-10, all young people must be accompanied by an adult. The workshop is free with craft materials provided, but spaces are limited so please register your young person.

Adults and older children can learn more about Leslie through this short video and article on the NZ History website.
