Anzac Day is our national day of remembrance. It is observed on 25 April each year. It commemorates those who died serving New Zealand during war and it honours returned servicemen and women, past and present.

25 April 1915 marks the day when Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) landed at Gallipoli in Turkey.

Since the first commemorative services in 1916, ANZAC Day has evolved into the observance we know today, with Kiwis of all ages attending services and events across New Zealand and the world.

Dawn Parade and Service
All Ex-Service people or their representatives who desire to take part in the Dawn Parade are invited to assemble at the corner of Victoria Street and Anzac Parade no later than 5.30am. The parade will march to the cenotaph where a brief service will be held. (Please note this is a shortened route and slightly different from previous years. This change has made it easier for all involved, and in particular our older veterans)

Limited seating will be available for those participating in the Dawn parade service who require it.

Dress: Civilian clothes and medals
