Mono-Printing - In these small, bespoke, art studio workshops Gaylene will demonstrate a variety of processes. She will show you examples and give each participant guidance on mono printing and/or preparatory image creation.
Her own work with diverse materials, subjects and styles – particularly on paper, is evidence of the expertise and passion Gaylene has to offer her small classes.
MONO-PRINTING is a process where one image is made from an inked and worked surface. Once it’s dry, adding another image builds up a multi-layered and textured work giving more depth and room for interpretation and experimentation.

You will learn to play with mark making, positive and negative spaces, colour, visual colour mixing, imprinting from objects.

Some may have no idea what to create and others may already have an outcome in mind. Others might like to explore or if you want to create a simple still life and work with that, then bring 3-4 small objects you love or have meaning for you.
You can work with found objects in a positive and negative way, such as
leaves (we have a forest here), textured fabric, plastics, shapes, embossed objects - whatever fits your creative mood.

Gaylene’s workshop supports hands on exploration of ideas and treatments and methods – all in the spirit of fun and learning.

Be prepared to get messy, let go expectations of outcomes, share what you are doing, go with the flow and enjoy this unique experience in a beautiful environment.
