Copland's Fanfare will be familiar to audiences, as it has inspired many compositions, from space shuttle missions to Superman movies. The soaring, lyrical melodies of "The Lark Ascending" makes it a perennial favourite with audiences and Ravel's "Pavane" is a masterpiece.
