Come and listen to a talk by Nick Bollinger, presenter and producer of The Sampler for RNZ, is the author of How To Listen To Pop Music, 100 Essential New Zealand Albums and Goneville, which won the Adam Prize for Creative Writing in 2015.

His current research project won him a Friends of the Turnbull Library Research Grant in 2019, to work on a book chronicling the development of the counterculture in New Zealand from the 1960s.

“From Baxter’s poetry to the music of Blerta, from Roger Donaldson to Tim Shadbolt, the counterculture has had a profound impact on New Zealand culture.” Do you remember the 1969 “liberation of Albert Park”? What about those “Jumping Sundays” in Albert Park? Don’t miss the opportunity to be entertained by this piece of our musical history!
