Avondale’s Military History - Urban Walking Festival

Discover the long history of the armed forces in Avondale on this Anzac Day afternoon walk. Starting at Avondale Memorial Park the walk will make its way through the town centre touching on the times and places that armed forces has been present in the area. The walk will finish at the Avondale RSA with a visit to the memorabilia room.

Our host, John Subritzky, is passionate about local history and specialises in mechanised military transportation. The walk will also draw on the research of local historian Lisa Truttman.
