Band Rotunda Takeover: Auckland Big Band

February in Cornwall Park will sound jazzy and BIG!

The Band Rotunda is being taken over by Auckland Big Band. Auckland Big Band was founded in 2017, and are on a mission to bring more music and playing opportunities to the local community. Brought together from all corners of the world by a love of music, the only requirement to join is enthusiasm! They have players from the UK, Spain, France, Japan, Mexico, Chile, and of course from all over New Zealand. They are excited to share their mighty sound and passion for all things jazz, swing, big band and funk. They have a varied repertoire so it's guaranteed there will be something for everyone!

Bring a picnic, drinks, friends and whānau with you, and enjoy an afternoon of good company and good tunes.

Public transport, walking, cycling and carpooling is highly encouraged due to limited parking.

The NZ COVID Tracer QR Code will be present at this event and all participants will be expected to scan the code. The code is also placed around the park, in public toilets and within Huia Lodge Discovery Hub. We ask that all participants continue with their basic hygiene practices while at the event and in the park. This includes hand hygiene (washing for 20 seconds, drying thoroughly or using hand sanitiser), coughing or sneezing into your elbow, and avoiding touching your face. Hand sanitiser will be available at the event. If you are feeling unwell before the event, we ask that you stay at home.
