Good Habits are a UK alt-folk duo, telling stories and turning heads across the globe.

Composed of singer-cellist Bonnie Schwarz and accordionist Pete Shaw, they create folk-infused songs that test the limits of their traditional instruments. Fusing folk and jazz within their original songwriting, the eclectic duo present an upbeat yet intimate sound-world of musical storytelling.

With ambition and versatility at the centre of their philosophy, Good Habits launched their duo project in October 2019. The standing-singing-dancing band embarked on a 40 show tour across New Zealand, wowing audiences across the length and breadth of the country in the process.

Covid-19 left them stranded in New Zealand, but thanks to the warmth and support of new friends, they have made the most of NZ’s triumphant recovery. During their hibernation in Paekakariki, they captured the collection of songs from their travels; ‘Going For Broke’ their debut album, which they released in September, Listen here —> https://ditto.fm/going-for-broke

Recent winners of the Purbeck Folk Rising competition, the duo are enjoying a full summer schedule and are set to play at Resolution, Splore, Revive, TSB Festival of Lights, Sanctuary Sounds Festival. Their new project included their brand new piece of gig theatre 'I Don't Know How To Dance' (single our 05.02, live show 9th-12th March BATS, Wellington). The duo will be performing some exciting musical material from the show amongst new soft-folker numbers.

"The duo are musical tricksters, relishing irregular time signatures and a tendency to reprise motifs just when you think the song is over." - Songlines

“The tightness and precision of their playing together made every song a gem” - Fresh Fm
