9am: Welcome from NZIPP Board Director Kate Christie

9.15am – 10.15am: Posing with Kate Christie:

As a contemporary beauty photographer, Kate spends her days photographing women of all ages, shapes and sizes. In this session, Kate will guide you through her posing, teaching you quick and easy tips to flatter clients of all ages, body shapes and abilities. Learn how to communicate with different people, so they understand exactly what you are asking so you can move through shots quickly, creating variation in your images and increasing saleability.

10.15am – 10.30am: Morning tea

10.30am – 12pm: Photoshop Intermediate/ Advanced level with Photoshop Expert, Charlotte Johnson

Take your images to the next level by learning advanced Camera Raw techniques, adding effects to your images, compositing, skin retouching for portraits, colour toning, brushes and more.

12pm – 1pm: Lunch break. Bring your own lunch, or buy something for lunch at one of the close-by cafes to enjoy. ARA Institute is centrally located in Christchurch with many options nearby.

1pm – 2pm – In Person Sales with Michelle Fey

Michelle is a portrait photographer in the Hawkes Bay who is absolutely smashing it in her business. Michelle’s turning point came when she introduced in-person sales to her business. In this session, Michelle will talk you through the process of in-person sales, giving you tools to help your business grow in profit.

Jason Naylor, creative business coach, is obsessed with helping small creative businesses find that balance between making art, and making money.

He’s fresh off delivering a 10-week digital marketing programme with James Day, and wants to bring some of that inspiration and genius to The Summit.

Marketing is so much more than great photos, and this will give you a crash course on how to stand out and generate more enquiries (plus a little bit of productivity, strategy, and mindset sprinkled in there!)
