The Open Studio Event Programme – Clevedon Art Trail.
Auckland Anniversary Weekend – 30, 31 January, 1 February 2021.

Pack up the car, grab your hats, and prepare to be inspired, bewitched and dazzled.  The 2021 Clevedon Art Trail takes place over Auckland Anniversary Weekend. Now in its fifth year, this beloved Art Trail introduces you to an eclectic collection of local artists and makers in peaceful, country settings.

Pick up a coffee and something sweet in Clevedon Village (approximately 20k from Auckland’s cbd), where 4 of the art events are centred.

Start your journey at the Art Industry Gallery in Clevedon Village; home to iconic artists Cheryl and James Wright. Talk to James as he builds a bespoke canine to join his collection. Delight in the five artist studios that are dotted along leaf dappled North Road. Round out the journey at Riverhaven Artland where you can discover 18 sculptures representing the work of some of this country’s leading artists, set amongst groomed orchards and grazing sheep. It’s also home to Katie Blundell’s Gallery + Studio. Her new collection is ready to view and there’s a free printmaking workshop for kids on Monday(booking essential). “What we love about this Art Trail is that it gives people the chance to taste and touch such a wide range of art, in bite-size chunks. Some people make a weekend of it, some trundle round with the kids in a few hours,” explains Katie.

Be awestruck, or get stuck in – take part in workshops, chat to the artists, add a new craft to your repertoire.

Learn how to transform clothes into Wearable Art. Create an heirloom chair the hand-crafted way. Sharpen your skills in the ancient art of knife making. Or simply be amazed.
