Participants will be looking at the natural world such as gardens, rocks, water, flowers, moss, plants and other shapes and forms found in nature.
Students will use card and carboard to build up painted surfaces which will then be cut, layered, and assembled to create your own interpretation of an inspirational, colourful, and multi-dimensional natural world.
Using pastels to add further layering, detail, and depth. This workshop is suitable for those with experience or complete beginners.
Emma will give examples from her ‘Colour Field’ installation at the Tauranga Art gallery and discuss composition and colour dynamics.
Students will need to bring some visual references (either saved on a phone or photocopies) of some elements in nature which inspire. For example, rock forms, flowers, plants, colours in nature, seasonal colours - these will be references and inspiration for the artwork. Emma will also bring some references

One Day Workshop
All materials supplied.
Emma is a local Tauranga artist and art educator.
I recently went on Emma Prill's workshop. I was a bit nervous because I thought I might not be good enough but found the whole experience both uplifting and affirming. The motivation was thoughtful and sincere, and everyone worked on a number of projects at their own pace with as much or as little input as they wished. I would LOVE to attend another one as I got so much out of it. Sue Morgan French, NZ
