Coping with Challenging Situations
with Birgit Saunders

Stress has the power to destroy our peace of mind and rob us of our happiness.

It can present itself in different ways, from a knot in our stomach, to feeling restless, or finding it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. It may sneak in as a vague sense of irritation or impatience, and may just look like a raised eyebrow, or silence rather than kindness. Sometimes we find ourselves feeling anxious, powerless, or perhaps that we’re somehow just not good enough.

In this series, we will explore how much of the stress and tension we normally experience comes from our mind, and learn how meditation and mindfulness can be helpful tools in reducing the negative impact of stress on our well-being.

We will discover how we can learn to view every challenging situation with wisdom and a peaceful mind, enabling us to accept and work with potentially stressful situations more constructively.

The teachings in this series will provide clear, positive and practical advice and meditations to help us recognise, deal with, and eventually overcome our anxiety and stress. Gradually we can develop our inner resilience and confidence so that we come to view challenges opportunities for personal growth and development. In this way, we can all learn what it means to live stress-free and be genuinely happy.

If something can be remedied
Why be unhappy about it?
And if there is no remedy for it,
There is still no point in being unhappy
