Dance Casino (Cuban Salsa) Beginners New Course - T3

Attention all dancers and Latin dance fans from Nelson/Tasman region, let’s get together to enjoy a few hours of one of the most elegant-fun-spicy Latin styles in the world: Cuban Casino (known as Cuban Salsa) and Rueda de casino, over this 8-week course.

Casino is a form of partner dancing that was created in Cuba in the '50s. Since then, it has become one of the most popular and widespread forms of Cuban social dance.

When there are more than 2 partners, the dance will be done in a circle shape or Rueda. This dance style is great to create a social environment among the dancers or the people who are watching. It is also lots of fun.

The course will cover basic steps of how to starts dancing Casino, incorporating more complex turns and body movements as the course progresses covering Cuban styling tips for both men and women.

Content of Each Class
Each class will consist in Footwork + Partner-work (+ Rueda de Casino once you learn the fundamentals)

- The fundamentals, musicality & timing [Balance, technique & footwork]
- How to lead/follow in partner dancing [Guidance & displacement]
- Technique & flow in Rueda de Casino [Partner-work & awareness of group dancing]

When
- Starting from 3rd Aug, 7pm.
- Social Dance/Practica session every 4 weeks. Join our first one on Wed 28th July and meet the dance family.

- Please arrive 5-10 mins earlier for registration
