The Dargaville Community Development Board has facilitated a family-friendly multi-activity plan involving as many community groups and organisations as possible to create an all-inclusive community event alongside the Northern Wairoa Boating Club’s annual regatta to be held on March 28th, which is to celebrate Northern Wairoa River history - past and present. Check out the annual Northern Wairoa Boating Regatta which showcases races, and more... Boating enthusiasts come from near and far to enjoy the day's festivities.

The celebration is held in various locations within the township. Currently, there are over fifteen activity points located around the township for you to experience.

The aim of the event is to create a celebratory festival of “Our River - Our People. We would like to celebrate the events that brought life, work, and an increased economy to the area. This is a celebration of all facets of our river from the historic and current point of view. We see this event should attract interest from our local population as well as visitors to the area.

There is an activity map being developed to showcase the areas of activity. The map will show planned activities. Watch this space or check out the website for updates and a copy of the map to download for you and your family.
