Understand the science behind healthy eating. Discover how simple changes can improve your health and well being.

We live in a fast-paced world full of convenience and processed foods where it’s not always easy to maintain a healthy balanced diet. We want to help you break bad habits and choose nutritious healthy food options.

This short course runs over 6 Wednesday evenings and is held at our peaceful Albany campus, Auckland.

You are welcome to come onto campus and study face to face in class or join us from your own home via our Live stream classroom option.

Live stream works well for those who do not live in Auckland or close to campus or who are unable to attend in person in the evenings. Just indicate when you are booking your ticket which option you prefer and we will send you all the details on how to log in as a remote user or where to find us if you are coming onto campus.

The course will cover:

1. What is holistic nutrition?
2. Micronutrients - Vitamins and minerals
3. Macronutrients - Protein, healthy fats, carbohydrates and sugar
4. Healthy Habits - Water, stress, hormones, chemicals and sleep
5. Gut health & the microbiome - Healthy digestion, probiotics and fibre
6. Common diets & Intuitive Eating - the Mediterranean, paleo, keto, Ayurvedic & Intuitive Eating

There are lots of great classroom notes which can be accessed on online, product samples to take home and recommendation on new ingredients to try and how to incorporate them into your diet.

Christabel Ritson, your tutor will provide you with lots of nutritional advice and healthy food options, the classes are casual and easy to follow with plenty of time for questions and answers. Our aim is to provide you with the scientific facts behind healthy food, but in a way that allows you to easily apply them to your day to day food choices.

Your tutor on this short course is Christabel Ritson, Christabel complete a three-year bachelors degree in Naturopathy and Herbal Medicine, followed by a diploma in clinical nutrition at Wellpark College of Natural Therapies and runs her own private practice in Grey Lynn The Holistic Naturopath
