Kotahitanga Mo Te Taiao is a multi-agency strategy for the top of the South Island which aims to protect and enhance natural heritage.

Peter Hamill (Team Leader – Land and Water) at Marlborough District Council, will give an overview of the Strategy and how it is being implemented through the Te Hoiere (Pelorus catchment) Project.

The strategy is a strategic document that provides high-level outcomes to achieve significant conservation gains as well as social, cultural and economic benefits to communities that will grow resilience as a region; outcomes that no one entity could achieve alone. The Strategy acknowledges the high-level outcomes defined in the Place section as a starting point for significant engagement and collaborative working relationships to achieve transformational outcomes.

This event is part of the Marlborough Forest & Bird monthly talk programme. It should proceed at Covid level 2 or lower, but will be cancelled at level 3 or above.
