An inside chat with the Mild Red founder and designer Donna Tulloch
Mild Red is a premium New Zealand made fashion label, based in Dunedin. Founded by Donna Tulloch in 1995, originally as an avant-garde knitwear label. Today, the label specialises in textural, sculptural, monochromatic knit and woven collections that are described as having a tough elegance. With premium quality material combinations, sculptural yet timeless styles, Mild Red is a favourite amongst New Zealand fashionistas.
Donna is the sole designer for Mild Red, she finds inspiration from art, sculpture, architecture and the intellectual fashion aesthetic of Japanese designers Issey Miyake and Yohji Yamamoto. Sculpting and draping is Mild-Red’s signature, and fabric informs everything Donna does.
If you love fabric, fashion, and form, then you will love this talk from Donna. Hosted by Jane Malthus, one of New Zealand's dress and textile experts, this talk will be fascinating.
