Featherston Matariki Evening Festival

An evening festival as part of our local Matariki celebrations.

Entertainment includes:

Dr Pauline Harris (astrophysicist - Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairoa)
Ra Smith (storyteller extraordinaire - Ngāto Kahungunu ki Wairarapa)
Caitlin Morris and string instrument students from Cello Unlocked

Schedule of events for the evening:
3pm - 8pm

4pm - 8pm
- The Fell Engine Museum open
- The Featherston Heritage Museum open

5pm - 8pm
- Mini Fell Train* Rides (*dubbed the WaiSky Express for the occasion)
- Evening Market at "The Squircle"

6pm - 8pm
- Live Entertainment at 'The Squircle'. Please feel free to bring a blanket to sit on or under!

6.00pm - Karakia
6.05pm - MC
6.10pm - DJ music while string ensemble sets up
6.20pm - String Ensemble from Cello Unlocked
7.00pm - MC
7.05pm - DJ music
7.15pm - MC introduces guest presenters Pauline Harris and Ra Smith
7.50pm - Everyone sings Te Aroha' to Ngā whetu o Matariki
7.55pm - Karakia to finish

7.00pm - 8.00pm
- Star gazing with the Wairarapa Dark Sky Association in Clifford Square.
