This Halloween, embrace the spooky side with some scary stories in Otago Museum’s Animal Attic. We have the incredible Ōtepoti Theatre Lab onsite with dramatic readings of two classic creepy tales, Roald Dahl’s The Landlady and Robert Frost’s The Witch of Coos.
”You wouldn’t want to tell him what we have up attic, mother?” – Robert Frost
The Landlady was first published in the New Yorker, won the Best Short Story Mystery at the 1960 Edgar Awards and has been scaring readers ever since with its tale of death and taxidermy. Animal Attic, surrounded by creepy Victorian stuffed creatures is the perfect place to listen to this spine chilling story.
The Witch of Coos is the story of what is in the attic, in a shadowy story of witchcraft, death, and supernatural revenge. Come up to our Attic and get in the mood for murder.
