Join Hawke’s Bay Historian Michael Fowler for a walking tour around the Hastings CBD to see striking examples of the city’s Art Deco heritage including some amazing Spanish Mission architecture. Discover the story of how the 1931 Hawke’s Bay earthquake affected the CBD and learn why there are more Art Deco buildings here than in Napier. Michael’s tour is the result of over 15 year’s research and has new material added every year. The tour takes around1 1/2 hours at an easy pace around the Hastings CBD. Please meet inside the Hastings i-SITE ten minutes before departure time. There is a large car park nearby on Eastbourne Street West.
