Are you gaga for Gaga? Are you Rocketman’s biggest fan? Or do you prefer the way Janelle Monae makes you feel? Whether you’re a lover of all things queer history or, like a virgin, you need a little more education, it’s time for some celebrity impressions, baby! It’s Icons: A Queer Heroes Drag Show.

Take a mince down memory lane for this celebration of all pioneering queers who made drag and queer art what it is today. Whether you’re craving something Divine, something Carmeaningful, or just want a tux-clad Deitrich to kiss you on the cheek, this show is the history lesson you never knew you needed.

So sashay your way to Ivy Bar on January 23rd 10pm to bear witness to a selection Wellington’s own drag icons pay homage to those who paved the way. They are glamourous, they are fabulous, they are oh-so full of pride.

Please note! Seating is not allocated so make sure to arrive early to nab a good vantage point. Doors open one hour before showtime and door sales are cash only. Latecomers may not be admitted as we allow waitlisted punters to use any vacant seats at 15 minutes after the event’s start time.

The event space is located downstairs, but it’s essential that you get in touch with the Hugo’s Gigs team before the gig if you have any accessibility concerns so we can best help you out.
