Dunedin Fringe

A drop-in exhibition with a documentary short film on a loop. In Plain Air is presented amongst paintings created in the film by artist Pauline Bellamy.

In Plain Air celebrates the long career of Dunedin based artist Pauline Bellamy. We accompany her to a number of stunning Otago locations as she works among the elements. We discover what makes her tick, where she's been, and where she's going.

The film will play on loop 12-5 pm on a large screen, you're welcome to arrive anytime while we're open. The film is 16 minutes in duration and is suitable for all audiences. This is a rare chance to see the film, which premiered at Dunedin's Regent Theatre in August 2020 and hasn't been shown publicly in Dunedin since.

The paintings and drawings that we see being completed in the film will be exhibited in the gallery space surrounding the looping film screening.

In Plain Air was achieved on a small budget, which was met mostly through a successful Boosted crowdfunding campaign that saw strong community support. The key crew were extremely generous with their contributions to the production through their talent, time and hard work.

Special thanks to all of those that donated to the Boosted campaign, and to the City Of Dunedin.
