Join us at Otago Museum as we celebrate International Asteroid Day with an expert talk from Museum Director Dr Ian Griffin, followed by a special screening of Deep Impact in our Perpetual Guardian Planetarium.

Talk, 7pm – 7.15pm: Dr Ian Griffin has discovered and named numerous minor planets, and was former head of public outreach at NASA's Space Telescope Science Institute. Join us as he discusses some of his favourite finds, and view some wonderful astronomical photography in our Beautiful Science gallery.

Film, 7.15pm onwards: A comet is discovered to be on a collision course with Earth. As doomsday nears, the human race prepares for the worst. Rated M. Run time 116 minutes.
