Hangarua Workshops presents our Keepsake Workshop:

The aim of this workshop is to identify what objects we carry on our bodies. This explores hierarchies of objects and ideas that we collect through daily experiences. We encourage participants to organise their bag, wallet, pocket or technological devices that can be repurposed into a keepsake. We will provide jewellery accessories/ knick-knacks that might inspire makers and methods/ tools to bind the materials.

Participants have an option to bring their own rubbish to these workshops which could consist of:
Specific materials that you wear or carry on your body like an expired coffee card, lint, mint packet or a broken pen.

Tools/ methods that we will provide but are not limited to:
We will bring jewellery accessories/ knick-knacks and other interesting waste objects that we will bind together by sewing, knitting, tying, taping, ironing, gluing, wrapping and stapling.
Find us at the Betty Wark room at the Ellen Melville Centre!
