Lavender Magic - Garden Open Day

Join us for this season’s first open day, on Sunday the 19th December. High in the foothills of the Tararua Range is a place of magic—Lavender Magic. Wonder around our country garden, surrounded in trees, hills, the mountain and home to around 5000 lavender plants. Listen to the birds sing and the river flow. Lavender Magic is home to Pauline, Wayne, Poppet the dog and Poppy the cat. For over 16 years their hard work and determination has created a restful haven amongst the rows of carefully planted lavender plants. Every summer the flowers are lovingly collected and distilled to produce their beautiful lavender oil. The oil is then used by Pauline to make a wide range of aromatherapy balms, creams, sprays and soaps which will be available in the on farm shop. Enjoy a picnic, bring your morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea. Get your final Holiday Season shopping done and take a quite a few photos to show off to your Christmas visitors.

Note: We specialise in “English” lavender “angustifolia”. This lavender is not typical of normal lavender farms and you will not be able to pick your own lavender. There is a $5 entry fee per adult.
