To close the festival is a 50th anniversary (almost to the day!) screening of this award-winning film by legendary director, Luchino Visconti. Dirk Bogarde plays a composer paralysed by ennui and repressed emotion, who discovers a last vestige of beauty and emotion during a visit to Venice at the turn of the century. Death in Venice is a classic of Italian cinema; a slow and atmospheric treat of cinematography, amazingly beautiful as are most of Visconti's films.
