Nau mai, haere mai, welcome to the Ātea a Rangi – the Celestial Star Compass. Join the Ātea a Rangi Educational Trust in a heated marquee at Waitangi Regional Park to celebrate Te tau hou Māori / the Māori new year - the time of Matariki,

This night is not suitable for under five year old's, arohamai.

And this is a non-alcoholic event. We encourage car-pooling. All proceeds go to further local School education programmes at the Ātea a Rangi. Numbers are limited to 4x tickets per person.

Dress warm, bring a coat for stargazing afterwards, this is weather dependant.
The night ends with a guided tour of the stars at the celestial compass with Ngāti Kahungunu navigator Piripi Smith.
