All pedigree cats are registered and really loved and beautifully presented by their owners. Longhir cats are generally bathed before going to a show so their coats are clean and free of any knots .presentation and temperament are important aspects of a judge's decision.
A pedigree cat usually costs between $800= $3000 approx. Many imported cats cost much more and owners consider it an expensive hobby.
There are 4 rings which means cats get judged 4 times by different judges. Judges work out their best exhibit by following a strict standard and each cat is awarded points depending on their type. A judge will look for body type, head shape, eye size and colour ear set, condition of coat and colour.Judges will talk about each cat as they judge them but if you want some in-depth information talk to the judges after they have finished judging. Some judges can judge over 150 cats in one show so they are busy concentrating on what they like or don't like in relation to the standard.
It is important that visitors do not poke fingers in cages not only do the cats not like this but it may spread disease. and or the cat may bite. It is also important that visitors move about quietly as loud noises can upset cats so children should not runabout or yell.
Breeders are only too happy to talk to the public about the care of their cats as most breeders consider their cats as part of their family.
