MTG Collections Tour

Join us for this fantastic opportunity to see behind the scenes of the MTG collections facility. Find out how the objects are cared for, meet the MTG collections team and view some of the highlights of this extensive collection.

The tour includes paintings, taonga and historical photographs from the Hawke’s Bay region. You will see Williams Colenso’s journal and get up close and personal with the ever popular stagecoach that once travelled the Napier–Taupo Road.

See beautiful textiles and costumes from years gone by, including tapa, and learn as our collections team explain how they store and maintain the objects for future generations.

These tours are held at our collections facility in Ahuriri.
