Nothing is Left is a long-overdue solo exhibition by Alexander L. Brown, documenting over a decade of his ultra-detailed ink drawings for black, death and heavy metal bands and labels both locally and internationally.
These selected works - made originally for album covers, merchandise, posters and more - display thousands of hours of the carpal tunnel-inducing texture and shape he has become known for over the last 13 years. They are presented here in their true form; inclusive of subtle tonality and detail often lost in digital and print media.
The exhibition serves a transitional work for the artist, looking both backward into his formative years where obscure esoteric concepts were front and centre, as well as forward to a new more immediate and personally expressive form of self-exploration and experimentation.
AVE TETH will be performing a special set in the gallery space at 8pm.
Alexander L. Brown/Wrought Material and Monster Valley will be donating 50% of proceeds to Hospice West in support of people with terminal cancer.
Drinks provided by our friends at Garage Project, as well as a fully licensed bar operating at Monster Valley on the opening night.
