One of the first post-quake builds in Christchurch, the Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre is a striking, airy contemporary structure. Architectural historian Jenny May will show you how this building marries form with function, with a design based on a Dutch commercial greenhouse system and a botanical theme that continues through its interior elements.
Meet by the entry to the shop on the riverside of the building.
Jenny May is an architectural historian and heritage consultant who has been involved in heritage for some 30 years. She is currently involved in a number of projects including the reinstatement of Christ Church Cathedral and the Arts Centre of Christchurch.
