Would you know what to do if intestines were hanging out of your dog?

This and many other topics and tips will be covered in the veterinarian’s workshop. Be empowered to act in the field to improve survival rates in valuable dogs and keep your vet bill to a minimum.

Who is it for?
For all hunters, from enthusiastic new lads to hunters with a lifetime of experience. I have taught men that have been hunting for 20-30 years and they still said they learnt LOTS!

What you will learn
- Understand anatomy and the importance of first aid.
- Learn how to improve the outcomes of serious injuries like blood loss, shock, pokes into chest and abdomen.
- Learn what to do in the field, at the truck and some things at home.
- Useful tips for assessing the severity of injuries.
- Help yourself and the vet save time, worry and money.

This workshop provides you with an understanding of anatomy and how to apply first aid in the field. What YOU do can impact the survival of your dog and your vet bill!  Get yourself prepared for injuries, and have the confidence to act fast.
The evening will consist of a powerpoint presentation and a mid-way break will allow for a practical session with a dog and refreshments.

Speaker:
Dr Christine Mackenzie of Picton Veterinary Clinic presents this easy to understand workshop. This vet's perspective on first aid is valuable knowledge for every hunter to ensure they give the BEST care to their devoted worker. Dr Mackenzie has seen many unfortunate choices made by owners over her 20 years of experience that have caused animals unnecessary suffering.
Dr Mackenzie‘s mission is to improve outcomes for pets and their people, and ultimately save lives and minimize unnecessary pain and illness experienced by animals.
In this illustrative and anecdotal workshop she touches on areas you may have never thought of, leaving you with a better understanding of your dog and fresh knowledge that you will use for the rest of your life while hunting.
