This course runs over the weekend 13 - 14 November 2021 10 AM - 4 PM both days.

Come and learn the skills to paint portraits from photos. Learn the basics of form, value and colour - while stealing a few tricks from some of the old masters. Create your very own masterpieces.

This course will focus on painting alla prima (wet on wet) acrylic painting and explore painting different subjects from photos. It will discuss techniques for simplifying the subject and learning to paint with directness and economy. Students will learn the basics of form, value, colour and how to use painting knowledge to interpret photos so that they can produce successful paintings.

Expected learning outcomes:
- Develop an individual style
- Learn a clear process to take a painting from beginning to end
- Block in paintings quickly and accurately
- Find proportions
- Have control over composition

This course fee includes all materials. Bring your lunch each day. We'll provide tea and coffee in the staffroom at break times.
