Welcome to our FREE whānau showing of Pourakahua, our 2021 Te Reo Māori Season play, at the National Library on Wednesday Sep 29. This beautiful full te reo Māori play all in the Kāi Tahu dialect is written by Jeffrey Addison.
This special performance is the final show of the Te Reo Māori Season tour for 2021.

Mō te whakaari / About the show:
Whai mai i Pourakahua, he takata momorua, he manu anō hoki. Ko ia tonu e topa haere ana ki kā tōpito ātaahua i Aotearoa. Ka tūtakina e ia he hoa hou, nāna rātou i arataki. Ko tāna hoki he karo i kā kaitaomanu.
Join Pourakahua, a cross between human and bird, on a journey of self-discovery as they fly across the stunning landscapes of Aotearoa to find their true home. They meet interesting friends along the way, coming to their aid while also evading the dangerous bird hunters, the “Kaitaomanu".

This show is brought to you with support from our major funders Creative New Zealand, Wellington City Council and Four Winds Foundation.
