Protecting Your Taonga

Come along and learn from our collections team how we protect our taonga. Bring your own taonga that you want to properly protect and take part in our free activity.

Join us for an exciting inside look into how taonga (treasures) are cared for in our collections. Our collections manager will demonstrate this live. Then you will have the opportunity to try these techniques on your own taonga!

What would you choose to protect forever? A toy, a watch, your necklace or earrings?
Bring along something that is precious to you and have a go at protecting and preserving it so that it may last forever!

Please note: There are limits on sizing and materials that can be used in this workshop. Nothing bigger than 20cm in any dimension in size. No live animals or plant materials.
