THUMRI
A semi classical form of music popularized in the lanes of Lucknow and later in the courts, Thumri brings in a woman's perspective to love and longing. This genre has seen a lineage of famous Thumri singers and exponents of classical music. No concert is complete without a couple of renditions of Thumri. Several leading female vocalists have popularised this genre and as a tribute to these ladies, MigHT-i and Aarohi School of music are proud to present a first full Thumri concert on the eve of Holi in Auckland.
