Rotorua Cushion Concert

Students from ages 5 to 17 of Rotorua IRMTNZ Music teachers and invited teachers to perform items on piano, sing and on other instruments such as guitar and violin. There are two of these concerts each year; the other one is in September. It is an opportunity for children learning music to perform in public to friends, family, other students and the general public.

Students can be beginners through to those at an advanced level. They play from a variety of genre including Classical, Jazz, Romantic, Musical Theatre and Modern. This is an annual event which has been going for many years. Some students have now performed every year from age 5 to 17 and have gone from being beginners to diploma students. This has been witnessed by several teachers and families over the years and has been inspirational to younger students seeing the progress that can be made with persistence, effort, patience and consistent practice.
