'Sanaa na ufundi' Exhibition by St. Constantine Int. School

COVID Announcement: Due the Nationwide Alert level 4 the exhibition launch event has been cancelled.

The exhibition will now be open to the public from Thursday 9th September and run until Wednesday 29th September.

The Incubator Creative Hub are proud to bring you a display of talent from St Constantine International School - Arusha - Tanzania.

Works are focused around the life and passions of Tanzania, divided into the following sections as designated by our art master, Geoffrey Namulala:

Cultural portraits
Other portraits
Cubism
Tanzanian Wildlife
Emotions.

The Upper Primary Year 6 class have created beautiful brochures promoting Tanzania, to help local safari and hospitality companies to rebuild their businesses. The highly-rated Tazama Safaris have donated a five-day safari to be raffled during the exhibition.

The students’ artwork will be for sale, along with a “village craft stall” with authentic products including blankets, jewellery, laptop bags, sandals, baskets, fabrics made by local craftspeople including parents and school supporters.

Aimed at raising funds for disadvantaged students to gain an international education, the artwork, paintings, drawings, sculpture and craft are all donated by the students of Saint Constantine International School to raise funds for their future studies and those of their colleagues.

St. Constantine is one of the top private schools in Tanzania and had been favoured by the attendance of many UN agency children, NGOs, and major international companies. The profits from the fees from these students had been used to create partial scholarships for highly talented, poorer students who would benefit from an international education in the Cambridge International examination system, and give potential to be leaders within their own country.

However, due to the mass exodus of international organisation families, due to the Covid Pandemic, they have no ongoing scholarship funding coming in.

This exhibition is part of a campaign to raise funds to help poor gifted students to gain an education at secondary level and beyond.

10am-4pm Saturdays and market Sundays (1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, weather dependent).

PLEASE NOTE: Social distancing rules apply. Contact tracing and mask wearing (12yrs & over) is required to enter ANY Incubator spaces during level 2. No mask = No admittance.

We will anticipate an official ceremony event to be held on Friday 24th September at 5:30pm. (Dependent on Alert Level status). This event will be attended by The Hon Jan Tinetti (Associate Minister of Education and Minister for Women). This will also be attended online with the team in Tanzania.

The Tanzanian team are working remotely with local teenagers to create a dance with music provided by the school. This will feature traditional sounds , modern-day reggae and Tanzanian hip-hop showing the various genres of the country.
