Darkroom and RDU 98.5 FM present the latest seminar in a series of free, informal, peer-run artist development sessions. September's topic is Intro to Recording and Music Production for bands, with guest speaker Kabyn Walley.

In this seminar we will go through the process of recording a live band, covering auto interfaces and digital audio workstations (DAWs), types of microphones used for recording, creating headphone mixes, applying gates compressors, EQ and effects, recording a take, and creating a mix.

7pm doors, seminar kicks off 7:30pm.

It's free to attend and we'll even provide free snacks! The bar will be open if you want to buy a drink.

This project is made possible thanks to the generous support of New Zealand Music Commission's Capability Grants Programme.

Darkroom is an R18 premises, if under 18s wish to attend they must be accompanied by a parent or court-appointed caregiver.

(This event was originally scheduled to happen on Weds Aug 25th but due to lockdown has been rescheduled to September.)
