Feilding welcomes riders at the start of the professional men’s and women’s international Gravel and Tar events for their 6th year - plus, amateur cyclists in the Westpac Slicks and Stones.

The Westpac Slicks and Stones in addition to the 100km category, is breaking new ground in 2021 with a “Lite” version of 46kms. Plus, there’s an e-bike division covering 46kms! So everyone can ride the beautiful back roads of the Manawatu in what is fast becoming an iconic cycling event.

These events are part of the Manawatu Cycling Spree - a weekend of cycling-related activities (for participating and watching - young, old or in-between), so come along to Feilding and if you're keen, enter the Westpac Slicks and Stones. If you'd prefer to watch, there are many advantage points along the route (see website for details) and you can join the fun at the Over The Line food and music festival, Memorial Park, Palmerston North, sponsored by Palmerston North City Council.

There’s also a Retro Ride for antique bikes (and perhaps antique cyclists) on Sunday 24th, culminating in a celebration and book launch in George Street, Palmerston North.
