Join the Sounds Nature Cruise to explore some of the most beautiful and fascinating spots in Queen Charlotte Sound/Tōtaranui close to Picton, perfect for the whole family.
Departing Picton on our premium catamaran, the cruise visits Kaipupu Wildlife Sanctuary, where you’ll have time to walk the easy 2.7km loop track, checking the little blue penguin/kororā nesting boxes along the way. Spot the rich native birdlife and soak in the views.
You’ll have the opportunity to get up close to Allports/Motungarara Island, covered in nearly a century of regenerating native bush, and learn about its fascinating history, which included regular police raids in search of an illicit whiskey still.
Cruising across the calm waters of Queen Charlotte Sound/Tōtaranui, we’ll stop at the sheltered Double Cove marine reserve to feed the resident tame fish, with a backdrop of stunning native bush.
The cruise also includes a bagel with your choice of delicious Marlborough Regal salmon and cream cheese, or jam.
