A charming and heart-warming adaptation, based on the classic novel by Edith Nesbit.
When their father is suddenly taken away by police on Christmas Eve the Waterbury Children - Roberta, Phyllis and Peter - have to relocate to Yorkshire with their mother, downsizing to a cottage and finding new friends and adventures in the town of Oakworth.
For this screening of The Railway Children, Higgins Heritage Park will have their exhibition sheds open throughout the day until 3 pm. Bring a group out for an exploration of the exhibits then a picnic before this beautiful steam era film screening at Faulkner Bush.
Or join us from 7:30pm to play giant board games, enjoy the park and watch the region’s glorious summer sunsets. Wrap up warm and please pocket a torch to light your way home.
If it looks like rain, please text “Is it on?” to 021 776 623 after 7:30pm.
Please pack it in, pack it out and keep our parks beautiful!
Full summer movie schedule of 14 screenings across seven venues is available on the website.
