We welcome students to join us in our fun and friendly workshop that will be held on the Marae at Rutherford College. The workshop is facilitated by one of our amazing tutors. Ideally, students participating will have completed a beginners course and have an understanding of the basic.

The day will commence with a Whakatau and then it will be sectioned into learning 'kete matauranga'.

a) Waiata, A-Ringa, Haka, Poi
b) Harakeke
c) Local, Regional and National Maori History,
d) A New MIHI and a new Karanga

In the workshop, students will be encouraged to converse in Te Reo as much as possible and it is expected that students will be able to confidently share their learning experiences at home with friends and whanau.

In celebration of adult learner’s week we ask that students be 16yrs and over to participate. Students 13yrs+ can participate if accompanied by a guardian. Full fee applies to both participants.

Morning tea and lunch provided. Gluten-Free and Vegetarian lunch options are available. Please notify the office when booking.

Bookings are essential and close 01 September.
