Laugh along with some of the best local and international comics in New Zealand for a night of uproarious stand-up comedy.

Thursday Night Comedy Showcase
Featuring:

Alexander Sparrow
Gavin Hews
Shannon Basso Gaule
& Special Guests, Salome Bhanu & Sweeney Preston

Hosted by Aaron Barber.

Alexander Sparrow
Alexander is an award-winning comedian, actor, director, writer, and MC. He has featured on TVNZ’s Breakfast, TV3’s The Project, and PRIME TV’s Back Benches; and in The Wall Street Journal (US). Previous solo shows include de Sade, Fred From Featherston, ENIGMA, DJ Trump, Much Ado About Nothing, and The Provocateur. Alexander is also a prize-winning short story writer. He has been published in the UK, Canada, and has work forthcoming in the US.

Gavin Hews
American born.... yet kiwi raised.
Along with an incredibly unique biography, Gavin also brings a unique perspective to the stage with his conflicting cultural outlooks on the world. The loud outgoingness of an American, coupled with the tall poppy syndrome of a kiwi creates a charming sense of humour with a healthy underlying dose of good old self-depreciation!

Shannon Basso Gaule
Shannon Basso Gaule is an up and coming stand-up comedian hailing from Ireland, currently plying his trade in Wellington. Shannon is a charming fella who likes to twist the dark and silly to see what comes out.

In 2020 he was awarded Best Newcomer of the Lower North Island by the NZ Comedy Guild.
Nominated for Best Up and Comer and Outstanding Achievement at Wellington Comedy Awards 2020.

Salome Bhanu
Hailing from the land of mangoes, this import is dazed and confused. Don’t get fooled by her innocence, this comedienne is pretty stupid too. If the word ‘oblivious’ had a face, this would be it. Her therapist has pissed herself laughing at her life story and begged her to do it on a public forum. With immense encouragement from her therapist and cats (Banana & Swipey), this comedienne made her debut on stage in Wellington, Nov 2020. This Bollywood reality TV star risks her sanity and yours when she gets on stage. Yeah...Nah Comedy Winner

NOTE: Level 2 restrictions will be observed. Social distancing, table service, and separated seating will be in place. Seating will be limited to manage capacity.
