Tira Haere

Knowledge, artefacts, treasures that have transitioned from homelands to new lands.

Tira Haere features 22 artists who have diverse cultural backgrounds that link to Hungary, Slovenia, Japan, Korea, South Africa, Holland, the Pacific and Aotearoa New Zealand and who are all residents of our nation. The exhibition will feature painting, sculpture, jewellery and ceramics within the themes of journey, voyaging and discovery.

Included in the show in the Artworks Courtyard you will find an installation by Kereama Taepa: 'A (very) Brief History of Aotearoa' as our Waitangi Day commemoration. This work has been supported by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage.
