The Japanese Tea Ceremony (chanoyu or chado) is a cultural tradition involving very particular places, procedures, and equipment for drinking green tea, and is considered nothing less than an art form. Join chanoyu expert Miki Shimpo at the Opera House Cafe and enjoy a taste. There are limited places in the ceremony however viewing is welcome. There are three sessions at 10.30am, 11.30am and 12.30pm. To book at seat (limited to 3 per session) please email oamaruoperahouse@waitaki.govt.nz.
