Victor Berezovsky’s work does not fit easily into the NZ art context. Writer and fellow artist Peter Ireland likens his paintings to a wondrous place. They contain a coherent and immensely rich web of symbolic motifs somewhat reminiscent of the lyricism of Marc Chagall and the melancholy of Pierre Bonnard.
Wellington-based Berezovsky regularly exhibits in Berlin, Germany. Despite an impressive body of work, Waiting at the curb is only his second solo exhibition at a public gallery in NZ.
The exhibition will be accompanied with text by Peter Ireland.
