Walk 04 – Te Ahu Pātiki Mt Bradley Summit Big Day Out with Roy Tikao (co-chair of Te Ahu Pātiki Charitable Trust), Sarah Anderson, Scott Winter and Christchurch Press Editor Kamala Hayman
Explore Mt Bradley - crowning glory of Te Ahu Pātiki - the new park created after public support for a highly successful crowd-funding campaign.
The planned route is a loop trip of sorts up from Orton Bradley through the lacebark terrace and round on the wide track up to the saddle between Te Ahu Pātiki (Mt Herbert) and Mt Bradley, then to the summit, and then back down and around under the Mt Bradley bluffs and down the new access track.
We will spend some time up here on the plateau to enjoy the breath-taking views over the expanse of Te Ahu Pātiki park, Be prepared for a big long day out, but we will take it at a relatively slow pace with several stops and aim to be back by late afternoon/early evening.
Today is an opportunity to talk with members of the Te Ahu Pātiki Charitable Trust about the vision for this special part of Canterbury.
