Ned Raw aka Tjaden representing the Melbourne Techno Scene, Flies in for this special one-off show.
Under the moniker Tjaden he supported international luminaries such as; Thomas P Heckmann, Richie Hawtin, Cari Lekebush, Alex Paterson, Adam Beyer, Dave Angel, Cristian Vogel, Freddie Fresh, The Advent, David Harrow (Sabres of Paradise) and Biz (Transmat). He also hosted his own radio show Sinewaves for over four years. Ned Raw does not just mix tracks he sculpts sonic harmonics from a mixed bag of Detroit to driving stripped back chunky baselines.
We are honoured to finally bring to Auckland DJ Coda. In my humble opinion he is basically the Godfather of the Wellington Techno scene.
Coda set the benchmark for the early wellington rave scene, producing some of the first warehouse raves under the production names of Eden, Essence and the White Room. These were basically life changing events for so many young DJ and promoters that followed. This was cutting edge underground music that could not be heard anyplace else apart from waterfront warehouses and on Radio Active shows like Headstrong That Coda produced on a weekly basis.
Not only did Coda promote and produce these events but he was able to play alongside our musical hero's IE the actual Godfathers of Detroit techno Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson and Derrick May, also known as the "Belleville Three".
Coda is still a tastemaker to this day and continues to host weekly radio shows on Active including
"The Floor" Thursdays 7-9pm.
Warming up the dance floor and representing Auckland with all things soulful and sexy is
Richard Dutton. Richard first hustled his way behind the decks at clubs from the tender age of 15.
He would turn up with his bag of records waiting for the main acts not to show. A regular on the Auckland club scene where he promotes his own events from Auckland to Tauranga Somehow he also finds time to hold down a weekly radio show "The Essential Clubbers UK Radio Show".
